Unveiling the Legacy: Explore the Rich History of Cullinan Golf Course
Established in 1905 by Premier mine employees, the historic Premier Mine Golf Club laid the groundwork for what is now the renowned Cullinan Golf Course. With Mr. William McHardy as the inaugural President and Mr. AF Pack as the Captain and club champion in 1907, its legacy began. By 1954, the course garnered acclaim as the country's premier 9-hole layout, featuring Bradley Type greens. In 1969, the course underwent a redesign overseen by Bob Grimsdell and Wilkes, resulting in repositioned greens and fairways on holes 5, 7, and 8. While preserving much of its original design, the course has undergone necessary modifications and aesthetic enhancements over time. Today, Cullinan Golf Course stands as a testament to its rich history, offering golfers an unparalleled experience amidst its storied past and picturesque landscape.
